SUFFERING

Psalms 115:49-50

49 Remember your promise to me, your servant; it gives me hope.

 50 When I suffer, this comforts me: Your promise gives me life.


Effects of Our Suffering - 

Sorrow - Grief

Uncertainty -  Confused 

Frailty -  Weakness

Fear - Anxiety

Exhaustion -  Worn Out   

Restless - Uneasy

Incomprehensible -   Non-understanding

Negative - Pessimism About the Future

Groaning - Agony of the Soul


PROMISE -

Purpose - God’s Plan

Remembrance - God’s Thoughtfulness

Observation - God’s Knowledge

Mindfulness  - God’s  Consideration 

Intervention - God’s  Involvement     

Sensitivity - God’s Compassion

Encouragement - God’s  Hope

Delight - God’s Pleasure in Answering our Prayers


HOPE -

Help - In the present circumstances

Opportunity - To learn to face adversity

Progress -  Growing stronger in character

Enjoyment  - Joy in seeing God’s providential intervention 


COMFORT

Calm - Peace in turmoil  
Overcomes - Fear of Death

Manages - Control in Crisis

Fortifies - Faith in Trials 

Objective - Focuses on Deliverance

Reassurance -- Hope in Uncertainty

Trust - Counters Unbelief


 Consider Paul’ perception. Romans 8:18

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.


Romans 8:28

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.


Such is the Promise, the Hope, the Comfort and the Future for the children of God in their times of suffering!!!
